The Boghouse at the Peter Wentz Farmstead
In 2015 Matt and Melissa Dunphy bought a magic theater in Old City Philadelphia, and while adding a third story to it, discovered the building dates back to the 1760s, and sits atop two 18th century privy pits loaded with thousands of artifacts. This sent them on the path of becoming citizen archaeologists and hyperlocal historians. In their popular blog and podcast, The Boghouse, they trace the property’s history back to William Penn, retrace the steps of previous owners' journeys down through Maryland and Delaware to research trade, or up to Boston to fight in the Revolutionary War.
Join the Dunphys at the Peter Wentz Farmstead on Saturday, July 29th to hear more of their incredible story and see some of the amazing treasures they’ve unearthed! Visit https://boghouse.thehannah.org/ to learn more.
Adults only, free.
